About the show

The Dance, Music, and Theatre Department and the Theatre and
Performance Studies program incollaboration with NIMO Theatre Company, are proud to present ¡AY CHIHUAHUA! at the Malibu Hall theater!

A bilingual, mariachi musical set in the 1960s, ¡AY CHIHUAHUA! offers a little bit of everything for everyone - drama, romance, and a celebration of life. The show takes the audience deep into the
heart of México and features three cultures - the Indigenous Rarárumi, the Mennonites, and the Mestizos -as it explores the immigrant experience. Originally staged by ÃNIMO in 2017 in Ventura County to sold-out audiences, this updated revival includes performances by Mariachi Ãguilas and 91ÊÓƵ’s Ballet Folklorico Club.

¡AY CHIHUAHUA! is made possible by generous funding from 91ÊÓƵ Instructionally Related Activities.
