As an admitted student, your future is already in the making at Cal State Channel Islands. There are a few important next steps to officially join the pod, and we鈥檝e outlined them all on this page. It starts by accepting your offer of admission. 

We also share details about financial aid, housing and orientation鈥攁s well as special events designed just for admitted Dolphins.

How to accept your offer

The first step to officially becoming a Dolphin is to accept your provisional offer of admission. Here鈥檚 how to do that:

Note: A yellow triangle will appear in your Student Center after you accept your provisional admission. Although you can ignore the triangle, you must pay close attention to items on your To Do List.

  • Step 1

    Have your Dolphin login information ready; this was sent to the email address you used on your application. 

  • Step 2

    Log into your myCI and click on 鈥淐I Records.鈥

  • Step 3

    Scroll down to the bottom of the page (under the 鈥淎诲尘颈蝉蝉颈辞苍蝉鈥 heading) to find the option 鈥淎ccept鈥 or 鈥淒ecline鈥 admission.

  • Step 4

    Select 鈥淎ccept.鈥

  • Step 5

    Follow the prompts.

Next steps for admitted students

As you prepare to join the Dolphin community, here are some important to-dos.

Over 80% of our undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid, including grants and scholarships.

Apply for financial aid by submitting a  or  application by the extended priority deadline.

More than 1,200 Cal State Channel Islands students live on our vibrant and welcoming campus. First-year students typically live in our Santa Cruz or Santa Rosa Village.

If you have taken any college course work or AP/IB test(s), we recommend you request official transcripts/test scores 2-3 weeks before your scheduled Advising & Registration session. We want to ensure you do not register for courses you might meet transfer credit for and that your transfer credit is posted to your record to meet prerequisites.

Official transcripts can be sent as a hard copy in a sealed envelope to:

You may also hand-deliver your transcripts to the Admissions office provided they remain in the same sealed envelope provided by your registrar. Official electronic transcripts may be sent by email to if they come directly from your school to this email address: admissions@csuci.edu

After accepting your provisional admission, you can register for your Advising and Registration session. To do this, log into your  portal and check your to-do list.

After registering for your Advising and Registration session, you will be able to choose your orientation session. To do this, log into your portal and check your to-do list.

After registering for an orientation session, you will be prompted to pay the non-refundable orientation fee.

Before you can begin classes at Cal State Channel Islands, we must receive all final official transcripts and, if applicable, AP and IB test scores.

Official transcripts can be sent directly from your school(s) as a hard copy in a sealed envelope to:

Note: If you have taken coursework from an institution outside of the United States, your transcript must be evaluated by a service, such as . Request your official report at least 6-8 weeks in advance of the transcript deadline. A detailed report with course level identification is required.

Test Scores

If you took Advanced Placement (AP) exams in high school, you must request that your official scores be sent to us directly from the College Board by this deadline (unless you have already done so). Request scores at least 6-8 weeks in advance. 

This requirement is for students with a residency status of 鈥淎nother State or U.S. Possession鈥 or 鈥淯ndetermined.鈥
