91ÊÓÆµ offers international exchange students the opportunity to enroll in courses on campus with regular domestic university students. In return, CI students have an opportunity to study at the partner educational institution: Institutional Partners.

Admission Requirements
- To apply for the J-1 Exchange program at CI you must be enrolled at one of our Institutional Partners
- You must be nominated by your Institution’s International Office
- Complete J-1 Exchange Application (sent by email after nomination)
- Verify Financial Support (instructions emailed after nomination)
- English Proficiency Score ( 61, 6.0, 5 or B or better, Pre-1, 46, 95)
- Official Transcripts
- Provide passport copy (US citizens are not eligible for exchange, contact of other pathways to attend)
Once Admitted
- Apply for your J-1 visa at US Consulate (instruction is included in your pre-departure packet)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the nearest international airport
- J-1 status students must provide proof of insurance coverage through
- Follow all regulations regarding immunizations, please visit CSU Channel Islands Student Health Center.
- Please note that specific classes you choose may have a nominal class related fee (e.g. lab fee), if you enroll in these classes you are required to pay the fee related to the specific class.
