Flexible Benefit Plans

A Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA), or flexible spending account is a way to pay health care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The HCRA is administered by ASIFlex, a third party administrator.
 
ADependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA)or flexible spending account is a way to pay dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The DCRA is administered by ASIFlex, a third party administrator.
 
FlexCash (, 3.29 MB)
FlexCashis an optional benefit plan that allows you to waive medical and/or dental insurance coverage if you have other non-CSU coverage.  This benefit provides a cash payment in lieu of your medical and/or dental insurance coverage.  If eligible, you may select FlexCash in lieu of a medical plan, and still enroll in a dental plan for your and your dependents.
Tax Advantage Premium Accounts
If you are an active employee eligible for, and elect coverage through the CSU in a CalPERS health plan, theTax Advantage Premium Plan (TAPP)enables you to pay for your medical insurance coverage on a pre-tax basis.  Any such premiums for the CSU-sponsored coverage you have selected will be deducted each month from your salary before federal and state income and Social Security/Medicare taxes are calculated and deducted.
