DASS works in collaboration with Housing & Residential Education (HRE) to provide reasonable accommodations within residential facilities for students with disabilities.
Housing Accommodation Request Deadlines for Priority Consideration:

Important Note: Housing accommodations depend on availability and are granted to those who complete the entire application process by the posted deadline(s).
Students must complete the DASS Housing Application form each academic year to request accommodations for campus housing. Personal preferences for a specific village or building location are not disability-related accommodations.
Steps to Apply for Housing Accommodations
Step 1: Complete the HRE Housing application
- Visit the Housing Deadlines for HRE application dates.
Step 2: Gather your Supporting Documentation
- Visit the Housing Accommodations Documentation webpage for more information about the supporting documentation used to determine housing accommodations.
- Applications submitted without supporting documentation will be placed on hold.
Step 3: Complete the
- Students who did not upload supporting documentation with their application may submit
it using one of the following methods:
- Email: accommodations@csuci.edu
- In person: Arroyo Hall, Second Floor
- Fax: 805-437-8529
- Revisions or Updates: To make changes to a submitted request, a new application must be submitted.
Step 4: Meet with a DASS Counselor
- Once all required materials are received, DASS will contact the student to schedule a housing accommodations appointment.
- A meeting with a DASS counselor is required to determine housing accommodation(s).
- Applications submitted after the posted deadlines are reviewed based on housing availability and may be placed on a waiting list.
Additional Information
- Academic and housing accommodations have separate applications. Apply for Academic Accommodations if you need support in class.
- DASS will inform you of the decision on your housing accommodation request, and HRE will notify you of your housing placement.
- The housing accommodation process usually takes 2–4 weeks but may take longer. Providing accurate supporting documentation can help speed it up.
