Academic Advisors assists students with various academic needs, provide campus referrals and student-related services during scheduled appointments or drop-in advising. 

Faculty Advisors are professors that provide major specific advising during designated office hours.

Faculty Advisor List

All academic advising services are available for undergraduate students currently enrolled through the main CI campus. Discontinued and currently disqualified students, please email advisement@csuci.edu for re-entry or reinstatement appointments. Provide your full name, student ID, and availability.

  • Future students interested in attending CI should contact Admissions at admissions@csuci.edu
  • Incoming freshman and transfer students will meet with an academic advisor during a designated Academic Advising & Course Registration session

Peer Advisor

First year students meet with a Peer Advisor who will review their Degree Progress Report (DPR- formerly CARR) for General Education (GE) and graduation requirements. The Peer Advisor also provides course recommendations, campus resource referrals, and assists with major exploration.

Academic Advisor

The Academic Advisor provides an extensive review of the Degree Progress Report (DPR- formerly CARR) to ensure that students are making academic progress and completing courses that are fulfilling GE, graduation, and major requirements.

Faculty Advisor

The Faculty Advisor serves as the expert in the major. They can address any major-related issues as well as provide guidance on internship and research opportunities, as well as career pathways. To schedule an appointment with a Faculty Advisor, please contact them directly.

Graduate School Specialist

The Graduate School Specialist supports students by discussing the importance of graduate education and how it may pertain to their career goals.

Graduate Interns

Graduate interns are second-year graduate students completing their master's degree in educational/college counseling. They meet with incoming first-year and transfer students to provide an overview of their Degree Progress Report (DPR- formerly CARR) and course recommendations for the following semester.
